Who we are

VanillaNext is an independent project based in NYC. It isn't a registered business or incorporated company; it's run by its founder to share new product ideas, gather feedback, and find early users. In this policy, "VanillaNext," "we," and "us" mean the person operating this project. You can reach us at info@vanillanext.com.

Products featured here are early and experimental. They may change, pause, or be discontinued.

What we collect

When you subscribe, we store:

• Your email address.
• Where you subscribed (for example, the StirHub section of this site).
• When you subscribed, and which version of our sign-up wording you agreed to, so we have a record of your consent.
• Whether you're currently subscribed, and when you unsubscribed if you did.
• A random code that makes your personal unsubscribe link work.
• Whether we've sent you a confirmation email, when it was sent, and how many attempts to send it didn't go through.

We don't ask for your name, phone number, or any payment details.

Technical information. To block spam sign-ups, our server briefly checks your IP address against a short-lived counter held in memory. It isn't saved to our subscriber list and is discarded within about ten minutes. Failed attempts to sign in to this site's admin area are counted by IP address in the same way and discarded within about fifteen minutes. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability, under its own retention rules.

Cookies. This site doesn't set cookies and doesn't use analytics, advertising pixels, or other tracking technologies.

If you email us. If you write to info@vanillanext.com, we'll have your message and email address and use them only to reply to you.

How we use it

• To announce new products and ventures as they launch.
• To invite you to early access, beta tests, pilots, or waitlists, including for products hosted on other websites, app stores, or platforms.
• To ask for your feedback, for example through a short survey or an invitation to a conversation. Taking part is always optional.
• To send occasional progress updates about products you subscribed to hear about.
• To keep a record of your consent and your unsubscribe choice, so we honor it.
• To protect the site from abuse and to comply with legal obligations.

We don't use your information for automated decision-making, profiling, or advertising.

Early access on other platforms

Some invitations will point you to a product hosted somewhere else, such as a separate website or app. Our email only contains a link. We don't send your email address or any other information to that platform. If you choose to sign up there, you give your information to that platform directly, and its own privacy policy and terms apply. We may later learn in aggregate how many people joined through an invitation, but we won't combine that platform's records about you with our subscriber list unless we ask you first.

Legal basis (EEA and UK visitors)

We process your email address on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing. We rely on our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of the sign-up form.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We only disclose it:

• To service providers who help us operate this project: website hosting and email delivery. They process your information only on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.
• If required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of VanillaNext or others.

If VanillaNext, or one of its products, later becomes a company, your subscription may move to that company. This policy would continue to apply, and we'd email you beforehand so you can unsubscribe or ask for deletion first.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you're subscribed.

If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address, the date you unsubscribed, the random code in your unsubscribe link, and when you originally subscribed along with which version of our sign-up wording you agreed to. We keep these so that we never email you again and have a record of your earlier consent. We clear the other details: which list you joined and your confirmation-email records.

If you ask us to delete your data, we delete your record from our subscriber database, and the deleted entry is overwritten in the live database file. Copies can remain in backups of the database until those backups are deleted or replaced. Our email delivery provider keeps its own records of the emails it delivered to you, under its own retention rules.

If the project ends, we'll delete the subscriber list.

Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe: use the link at the bottom of any email we send.
• Rejoin after unsubscribing: the sign-up form won't re-add an address that has unsubscribed. Email info@vanillanext.com from that address and we'll clear the opt-out so you can sign up again.
• Access, correction, or deletion: email info@vanillanext.com from the address you subscribed with. We'll respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request a copy of your data in a portable format, to object to or restrict processing, and to appeal a decision we make about your request. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live, and you won't be treated differently for making one. If you're in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

Only the project's operator can access the subscriber list, and administrative access is protected by a password. This site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

This site isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has subscribed, contact us and we'll delete the address.

Where your data is stored

Our systems are located in the United States. If you subscribe from outside the U.S., your email address will be transferred to and stored there.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and email subscribers before the change takes effect.
